| Parent-Child
Mother Goose |
|
A group experience for parents and their babies and young
children, focusing on the pleasure and power of using rhymes,
songs, and stories together. Parents gain skills and confidence
which can enable them to create new and positive family patterns
during their children's crucial early years.
The group of parents and children meet with the teacher once
a week. The teaching is directed at the parents with the children
joining in, playing or napping. Sitting in a circle on the
floor, the parents learn rhymes and songs which lead naturally
to holding, touching and bouncing the children. Each session
ends with a story told to the parents - giving them the same
sort of pleasure in language and listening that they can give
to their children with rhymes and songs.
