Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program
The Prenatal CRC Program is funded by the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) under the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). We provid weekly opportunities for pregnant and new parents to meet, make and share food, learn from each other and participate in educational events. Prenatal CRC ensures information is available and accessible on issues such as: pregnancy, labour & birth, postpartum, baby food making and parenting. Everyone works together to help participants learn how to cook healthy meals and stretch their food budget. Free food supplements and prenatal vitamins are available and there are many books and videos to borrow. There is breastfeeding support before and after delivery. The Prenatal CRC program is a great stepping stone to other community based early learning and parenting programs and is offered in partnership with other community agencies at 7 locations in our County.
